Making a referral

Who to refer

Any client who has been, is vulnerable to becoming, or is currently involved in prostitution, where prostitution is defined as:

• Males who engage in sexual activity in exchange for some form of payment such as: money, drinks, drugs, consumer goods or a bed or roof over their head for a night. This might take place in a variety of settings including private accommodation, brothels or on the street.”
• Lives in, or has involvement in prostitution within the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde area.
• You feel may benefit from discussing their options with regards to their involvement in prostitution.

When to refer

• Most beneficial when the client is willing to engage with the project.
• When the client is prepared to reflect on their involvement in prostitution.

How to refer

Referral should be made using the Open Road Referral Form which should be returned to:

Alternatively, referral forms can be emailed to the project. Such emails should be password protected. Please phone in advance of emailing the referral form with notification of the password.
